The 412th MDOS oversees numerous departments including Bioenvironmental Services, the dental clinic, Flight Medicine, Family Practice, Immunizations, Mental Health, Public Health and the Optometry Clinic.

Callender comes to the high desert from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, where she served at the Air Force Personnel Center as Assignment and Workforce Development Support Branch chief.
