Christmas concert

The Edwards Singers and the Chapel cordially invite you to join them for a Christmas celebration. Come hear the “Story of Christmas” along with traditional hymns sung in four parts. This free concert for people of all ages will be held in the Chapel 2 Sanctuary 5:30 p.m., Dec. 11.
 

Retirement

Brig. Gen. Carl E. Schaefer requests the pleasure of your company for a ceremony honoring Chap. (Lt. Col.) Brendon O’Dowd, 412th Test Wing chaplain, on the occasion of his retirement. The ceremony is 10 a.m., Dec. 22 in Chapel 1 (Bldg. 2700). To ensure that adequate refreshments are made available, R.S.V.P. to Tech. Sgt. Steven Eckles at 661-277-2110.
 

Commissary holiday hours

The Commissary will be closed Christmas Day (Dec. 25), and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). The Commissary will close at 4 p.m., Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve). For more information, call 661-277-9175.
 

Webster University ending program at Edwards

On Dec. 31, 2015, Webster University will no longer be providing educational programs on Edwards Air Force Base. They began their Teach Out Program in July 2015 and have notified all their current students of this change. If you have any specific questions regarding the closure of Webster University, you can direct them to the Edwards AFB Webster University director, Karen Fudala, at 661-258-8501.  Their on-base office is located in the Edwards Education and Training Center on 140 Methusa Ave.
 

Embry-Riddle

Qualified CCAF graduates can now seamlessly transition into Embry-Riddle’s Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Bachelor of Science in Technical Management degree programs. These programs are now listed as Category I-AU-ABC in the Air Force Virtual Education Center portal. This new designation means graduates with qualifying CCAF degrees will need to complete no more than 60 credit hours with Embry-Riddle to earn a bachelor’s degree. Starting in January, Embry-Riddle’s new military undergraduate tuition rate will be $250 per credit hour. This rate applies to all service members on active duty or serving in the reserves of the U.S. Armed Forces while they’re pursuing an undergraduate degree. This rate will also apply to military spouses and dependents age 26 and under.
