Gaining Altitude — Growth Opportunities for the Week

Chaplain (Maj.) Jason Knudeson
412th TW chaplain

Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community
As I am typing this, our National Anthem is playing, and I am remembering a scene at a previous assignment when I witnessed three officers rendering the courtesies to the flag at the end of the day. These three men were of different races, and, more than likely, hailed from diverse home towns. In spite of their differences, they wore the same uniform, and as the “Star Spangled Banner” played, they turned to salute the same flag. Our diversity is a blessing and a chance to grow in understanding of our various heritages.

Through our prayers — an opportunity to pray for the needs of our community
– Creator God, you have painted the world with a beautiful palate. Help us to appreciate the artistry of our differences, and to celebrate how we complement each other in our service together. Amen.
