Thunder and Lightning over Arizona, a free, public event, is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23-24, at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
The Thunderbirds, the U.S. Air Force’s precision-flying demonstration team, will be headlining the event along with D-M’s very own A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration team to display the military’s air power capabilities.
The event will also include flyovers from a U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor and a C-17 Globemaster III, along with the U.S. Air Force parachute team, Wings of Blue, and other performers.
A B-52 Stratofortress, a T-6 Texan II, a P-51 Mustang and many more ground displays will give visitors the opportunity to tour and learn about specialized aircraft.
D-M will also be hosting a Military Open House where the public will get the chance to learn about its assets and have the opportunity to meet the men and women who play a part in these mission sets.
Food and beverages will be on sale at the event. Security will direct visitors to the free parking areas.
