U.S. Army vehicles are staged on the March Field tarmac Aug. 5, 2015, in preparation for transportation to Fort Irwin, California, via airlift as part of Joint Operations Access Exercise (JOAX) 2015, Operation DRAGON SPEAR. March Field personnel provided its Army brethren a staging location for aircraft, vehicles and personnel during the week-long exercise.

The bulk of the 4th Combat Camera squadron’s camera and support equipment is loaded onto a C-17 Globemaster III at March Air Reserve Base, Aug., 3, 2015. The 15 pallets, worth about $4 million weighs in at 39,460 lbs. (19.73 tons) and completely fills the C-17s cargo compartment and is bound for Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Although the 4th Combat Camera was inactivated on July 31, 40 members will be assigned as IMAs to the 3rd Combat Camera Squadron at Lackland. The process is in motion to stand the unit back up as a classic association unit of the 3 CTCS in October 2016.
