Fort Irwin, Calif – The Department of Emergency Services held a Thanksgiving Holiday food basket and decorating contest for the benefit of some deserving Fort Irwin community members on November 21.
The second annual competition was held at the DES headquarters where eight different teams created holiday meals and table decorations, which were later donated to Fort Irwin families that could use a little help this holiday season.
According to Deputy Chief of Police, Capt. Dennis the three judging criteria were: Quantity, Quality and Décor. just a little bit of internal fun, but at this time of year some folks will get some good stuff out of it. Hopefully this will just keep growing Dennis Deputy Chief of Police
Although the contest was only for bragging rights, the competition was fierce, especially with Mr. Chris Queen, a member of the winning team who said, “There are no winners or losers here, only 1st place and everyone else.”
