The holiday season kicked off at the National Training Center with a Thanksgiving Holiday meal on November 22 at DEFAC #2 here.

The meal was prepared by the troopers of the 11th Cavalry Regiment, who put out a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.

Brig. Gen. Jeff Broadwater, commanding general of the National Training Center and Fort Irwin, welcomed the crowd and offered his and the sergeant major’s families best wishes to the members of the Fort Irwin community. “I am extremely fortunate to be here with you all this Thanksgiving, he said. “We want to thank you all and have a very blessed Thanksgiving and spend that with your loved ones.”

He went on to thank the food service team of the 11th ACR and recognized two Soldiers who created the cakes for the event.
