FORT IRWIN — Nearly 100 people gathered for a Candlelight Christmas Eve service at Center Chapel. Guests joined the choir in singing 11 carols that included mini Bible lessons in between that accompanied each song to teach worshippers about the birth of Jesus Christ. The songs included “Joy to the World,” “The First Noel,” and “Silent Night.”
Those reading the pre-song scriptures included chaplains of the Religious Support Office team, as well as volunteers. The songs and Bible readings were followed by a communion service, lighting of candles and a benediction that included NTC Chaplain (Col.) Ric Brown praying for a safe and joyous Christmas and New Year to all.
