FORT IRWIN, Calif — The Military and Civilians Spouses’ Club hosted their monthly luncheon in January and the theme’s inspiration came from the classic movie, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
Each month, along with a new theme, the MCSC hosts a luncheon to support non-profit organizations in the Fort Irwin community.
The spread included a fancy brunch of French toast sticks, quiche, and white chocolate-covered strawberries. The attire was casual but some guests said they should have worn athletic wear because one of the activities— a movie trial game— got competitive. There were tons of opportunity prizes for the winning table.
At January’s luncheon, the club requested donations for the Bob Hope USO in Ontario, asking for individually-wrapped snack foods, candy or cookies.
Next month’s luncheon theme is Dessert Wars. If you think you make the best cupcakes or cookies in the west, the group asks that you come to share what you have 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Feb. 14, at the Sandy Basin Ballroom. Next month’s community outreach is requesting diapers and wipes for the On the Rise adoption agency. The club also requests attendees to wear pink or red to earn an extra opportunity ticket.
