FORT IRWIN, Calif.  — About a dozen Fort Irwin firefighters, military spouses and volunteers read books to classes at Lewis Elementary School for National Young Readers Week on Nov. 15.

More than 20 volunteers read to students from kindergarten to 2nd grade, throughout 14 classes. More than a dozen books were also donated to the school library. The Fort Irwin Firefighters also read to students on post on a monthly basis.
