Military Spouse appreciation month

In celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation month, the Fort Irwin Family and MWR gave away more than 1,000 cookies at no charge on May 12, 2020.

Each spouse who stopped by the PX received a dozen, homemade cookies, provided as donations to the MWR from a nonprofit organization.

Month of the Military Child

The Fort Irwin Family and MWR handed out complimentary Ice Cream to Military Children at Sandy Basin Community Center and select bus stops on April 30, 2020 in celebration of Month of the Military Child. The treats came as compliments of the For Families of Active Duty Military nonprofit.

Taco Tuesday on Cinco de Mayo

The Fort Irwin Family and MWR hosted a Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday Celebration on May 5, 2020, at the Sandy Basin Community Center. It included free taco kits and a drive through option, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Volunteer employees from the Villages Housings, as well as BOSS volunteers handed out meals at the community center, as well as the barracks and the Weed Army Community Hospital. The event was sponsored by an MWR partner.
