The 56th SFS Squadron handled the following incidents occurring Feb. 27 through March 31 at Luke Air Force Base:

Tickets

SFS issued citations for 110 moving and 35 nonmoving violations.

Traffic-related incidents

March 9: SFS responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident. One vehicle was backed into the other. There were no injuries.

March 15: SFS responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident at Bldg. 920. One driver took a hard right to pull forward out of a parking spot without noticing a parked vehicle next to the driver’s vehicle. The driver notified the owner of the parked vehicle.

March 24: SFS responded to a report of a hit and run at the shoppette. One driver backed into the other and then left the scene of the accident without making contact with the other driver. SFS briefed the base gates to be on the lookout for this vehicle with negative findings.

Emergency responses

Feb 27: SFS responded to a report of a fire alarm at Bldg. 668. SFS arrived on scene and evacuated the building. The alarm was result of faulty equipment.

March 1: SFS responded to a report of a fire alarm at Bldg. 542. SFS arrived on scene and evacuated the building. The alarm was result of faulty equipment.

March 6: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 914. The individual made complaints of a possible seizure. The individual was transported to Abrazo West Campus for treatment.

March 7: SFS responded to a report of a drug incident at South Gate search pit. Two nonmilitary contractors attempted to make a delivery on base while in possession of two pipes and a baggy of cocaine. The individuals were barred from base for two years.

March 9: SFS responded to a verbal altercation at an address in housing. Two military members were arguing about the other’s spouse parking in their parking spot. This was an ongoing issue. SFS took statements and the first sergeants took control.

March 10: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Luke AFB Exchange. An elderly individual had fallen. The individual was transported to Abrazo West Campus.

March 10: SFS responded to a report of a DUI at Kachina Gate. A dependent was observed walking funny and had slurred speech. SFS detained the individual who confessed to being on medication until Glendale police arrived and took control.

March 14: SFS responded to a report of a warrant’s hit at South Gate. A nonmilitary individual was wanted in Phoenix for a court order violation. Phoenix police responded and took control.

March 17: SFS responded to a report of a suspicious person at Lightning Gate driving a vehicle in circles. The individual displayed signs of intoxication. The individual had a popped tire and a damaged left fender. Glendale police responded and took control.

March 20: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 908. The individual made complaints of having seizures. The individual was transported to Abrazo West Camps for treatment.

March 24: SFS responded to a report of a warrant’s hit at the South Gate. SFS detained an individual wanted in Maryvale for obstructing justice. Glendale police took control and extradited the individual.

March 24: SFS responded to a Gate Runner at the South Gate. The individual drove thru the first lane with no intentions to stop. SF stopped the vehicle and initiated a challenge to have the driver exit the vehicle. The driver was intoxicated off alcohol and was non-military affiliated. Glendale PD was contacted and the individual was barred from Luke AFB for a period of 10 years.

March 25: SFS responded to a Gate Runner at the Lightning Gate. The induvial drove thru the first lane with no intentions to stop. SF stopped the vehicle at the Shoppette and initiated a challenge to have the driver exit the vehicle. The driver was non-military affiliated. The individual was barred from Luke AFB for a period of 10 years.

Nonemergency responses

March 3: SFS responded an individual driving on suspension. The individual had his driving privileges suspended for a period of 1 year.

March 7: SFS responded to a report of possible animal neglect in housing. SFS briefed the individual on proper animal control procedures and notified the first sergeant.

March 9: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the Exchange. The individual attempted to leave the store without paying. The individual was apprehended and charged with Article 121/larceny.

March 13: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1150. The building custodian conducted a walk-through with negative findings and secured the building.

March 20: SFS responded to a report of four individuals moving around the temporary lodging facility. SFS made contact with the individuals. They had base access credentials and were recording a music video. They were briefed on loitering procedures.

March 20: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 26. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.

March 22: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at LAFB Exchange. The individual attempted to leave the store without paying for $12.78 worth of merchandise. The individual was suspended from all AAFES stores for a period of one year. Glendale police arrived and cited the individual.

Alarm activations

SFS responded to 28 alarm activations on base.
