Ft. Irwin High Desert Warrior – Digital Publication serving the National Training Center and Ft. Irwin, CA

Welcome to the High Desert Warrior digital edition! If you’re looking for news and information on happenings at Ft. Irwin National Training Center, you’ve come to the right place. We start off this month’s issue with coverage of a recent change of command. After two years of service as the 916th Support Brigade commander, Col. Sidney Melton relinquished command to Col. Kenneth Bradford at the National
Training Center, June 20. Col. Melton will now move on to Fort Knox, Kentucky, as Chief of Staff for the 1st Theater Sustainment Command. We wish him much success in his new assignment. In addition to other local and national news of interest to Ft. Irwin soldiers and their families, we have a special feature for you this month. Click through to page 6 and meet Ethan Larimer, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment Honorary Blackhorse Trooper. Ethan, who aspires to be a Blackhorse Trooper like his father, has a medical condition known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy, which has rendered him wheelchair-bound. The Blackhorse Regiment recently spent a very special day with Ethan and made some of his dreams come true. It’s a great story for a holiday weekend – and just a small sample of what we have prepared for you in this month’s issue of High Desert Warrior, the only digital publication serving Ft. Irwin and the NTC! Click on the link above to read High Desert Warrior on your computer or mobile device. “Like” our Facebook page for daily updates on news coming out of Ft. Irwin and other military and defense installations in the desert southwest. It’s a privilege to serve you – have a great weekend! #aerotechnews #fortirwinarmynews
