The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents occurring Jan. 1 through 29 at Luke Air Force Base.
Tickets
SFS issued citations for 25 moving and 10 nonmoving violations.
Traffic-related incidents
Jan. 10: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 660. There were no injuries.
Jan. 11: SFS responded to a report of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Litchfield Road and Super Sabre Street. Glendale police took control. There were no injuries.
Jan. 11: SFS responded to a report of a major vehicle accident at Bldg. 810. A driver hit a pedestrian in the parking lot, rendered medical aid to the victim and reported to Bldg. 179 to report the incident.
Jan. 20: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 985. There were no injuries.
Emergency responses
Jan. 5: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Luke AFB Exchange. An individual fell and could not get up. The individual was transported to a hospital.
Jan. 5: SFS and firefighters responded to report of a fire alarm at Bldg. 546. SFS assisted with traffic control and building evacuation. The cause of the alarm was burned food on a stove.
Jan. 10: SFS responded to a report of an individual with a concealed weapon at Kachina Gate. The individual identified as a law enforcement officer with credentials to carry the weapon. SFS denied access and instructed the individual to leave the weapon at home while visiting the base.
Jan. 12: SFS responded to a report of an individual making suicidal threats at the exchange. Maricopa County Crisis Prevention team arrived and took control.
Jan. 18: SFS responded to a report of a gas leak at Bldg. 966. SFS evacuated the building. The leak was caused by equipment hitting a gas line.
Jan. 18: SFS and firefighters responded to a report of an individual complaining of a headache. The individual was transported to a hospital.
Nonemergency responses
Jan. 5: SFS responded to a report of what appeared to be a spent bullet on the flightline. SFS conducted a preliminary inspection and terminated the response.
Jan. 14: SFS responded to a report of an individual backing out of Kachina Gate’s inbound lane. SFS contacted the individual and identified the smell of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Glendale police responded and took control.
Jan. 16: SFS responded to a report of theft of private property. An employee had taken $225 from a cash box. Glendale police responded and took control.
Jan. 22: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting and apprehended an individual. Glendale police responded and took control.
Alarm activations
SFS responded to five alarm activations on base.
