The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents occurring Jan. 30 through Feb. 26 at Luke Air Force Base:
Tickets
SFS issued citations for 56 moving violations and 12 nonmoving violations.
Traffic-related incidents
Feb. 2: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 908. There were no injuries.
Feb. 12: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg.1550/commissary parking lot. The driver was backing a privately owned vehicle when it collided with another POV. There were no injuries.
Feb. 17: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 930. An active-duty Airman backed into a government-owned vehicle driven by a civilian. The airman was cited for inattentive backing.
Feb 22: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 495/LRS. The driver was backing a government-owned vehicle when it collided with another GOV. There were no injuries.
Feb 23: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Bldg. 400/TMO, which was caused by inattentive driving. The individual was cited.
Emergency responses
Jan. 30: SFS responded to a report of a warrant’s hit at the South Gate Visitor Center for failure to appear and failure to pay from Avondale. Avondale police arrived on scene and extradited the individual.
Feb. 1: SFS responded to a report of a driver under the influence at South Gate. Two nonmilitary-affiliated civilians attempted to access the installation while speeding through the inbound lane which was closed. SFS detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Glendale police responded and administered field sobriety tests and a breath test, which showed the individual over the legal limit. The individual was arrested and barred form base for a period of two years.
Feb. 4: SFS responded to report of an Airman driving with an open container at Lightning Gate. The individual was not under the influence but was issued a traffic citation.
Feb. 4: SFS responded to a report of a possible concealed weapon on a motorcycle rider at Lightning Gate. The individual was not forthcoming at first but then revealed the location of the weapon. The individual was issued a traffic citation.
Feb. 8: SFS responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and aggravated assault. SFS made contact with the victim who was struck in the head with a handgrip strengthener, which rendered the victim unconscious. Glendale police responded and followed the victim and subject to the hospital.
Feb. 11: SFS responded to a report of a gate runner at South Gate. A non-military affiliated individual drove through the without rendering proper identification. SFS engaged the pop-up barriers to stop the vehicle. Glendale police responded and took control. SFS barred the individual from Luke AFB for 10 years.
Feb. 12: SFS responded to a report of underage drinking. An active-duty Airman was apprehended and charged with Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation. The individual was released to the unit first sergeant.
Feb. 13, 14 and 15: SFS and firefighters responded to fire alarms at Bldg. 663. SFS assisted with evacuation. The triggered alarms were due to faulty equipment.
Feb. 14: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 586. The individual made complaints of overdosing on prescription pills. The individual was transported to Abrazo West Campus for further treatment.
Feb. 16: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 1130. The individual made complaints of neck pains and was transported to Del Webb Hospital for further treatment.
Feb. 16: SFS responded to a report of a gate runner at South Gate. The individual traveled at a high rate of speed through the gate with no apparent intent of stopping. SFS initiated gate runner procedures and enabled the pop-up barriers to stop the threat from entering base. The individual appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was detained by SFS. Glendale police took control and charged the individual with felony trespassing and DUI. The individual was barred from base for 10 years.
Feb. 20: SFS responded to a report of an animal bite on base. The complainant was bitten on the thigh while running past a house. The owner of the dog was charged with article 92, failure to control a pet. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not need a medical transport.
Feb. 21: SFS responded to a report of an individual video recording the installation entry control point. The individual was on Luke AFB property and was detained for federal trespassing and officer safety after not revealing any identification or speaking at all. Glendale police responded and took control. The individual was charged with federal trespassing.
Feb. 25: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident involving drugs South Gate. The non-military affiliated civilian had an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Glendale police responded and took control. The individual was cited and released.

Jan. 30: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 978. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Jan. 31: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 993. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 1: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 453. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 2: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 999. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.

Feb. 4: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1150. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.

Feb. 5: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1150. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 7: SFS responded to a report of damage to private property at Bldg.179. The victim reported to the SFS building to report the damage after having parked at the base exchange and returning 10 min later to find a large dent in the vehicle.
Feb. 10: SFS responded to a report of a theft of private property from spot 378 at the RV storage lot. The individual last saw the trailer on Jan. 16. SFS has no leads at this time.
Feb. 10: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the Luke AFB Exchange. The individual attempted to leave the store without paying for $68.99-worth of AAFES property. Glendale police responded and cited, and released the individual. The individual was suspended from entering the AAFES store for a period of one year.
Feb. 11: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1022. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 11: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg.997. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 12: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg.1130. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 13: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 2202. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 13: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 999. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 13: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 993. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 15: SFS responded to a report of an individual refusing to leave at South Gate Visitor Center. SFS escorted the individual off the installation.
Feb. 17: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1150. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 18: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 453. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 19: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 945. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Feb. 20: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 700. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.

Feb. 26: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the Exchange. An individual attempted to leave the store without paying for a $34.99 item. Glendale police responded and cited and released the individual.
Feb. 26: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1130. The building custodian was contacted to conduct a walk-through with negative findings. The building was secured.
Alarm activations
SFS responded to 13 alarm activations on base.
