The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents that occurred April 24 through May 28 at Luke Air Force Base:
Tickets
SFS issued citations for 63 moving violations and eight nonmoving violations.
Traffic-related incidents
May 1: SFS responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at Bldg. 1515. An individual backed a vehicle out of a parking space and made contact with another vehicle. SFS issued a citation.
May 2: SFS responded to a report of a vehicle vs fixed-object accident at Bldg. 1550. An individual making a right turn struck a stop sign with the right bumper causing it to fall over. SFS did not cite the individual. There were no injuries.
May 5: SFS responded to a report of damage to the side bumper, fender, headlight and fog light of a privately owned vehicle. There are no leads.
May 5: SFS responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident. There were no injuries.
May 10: SFS responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident. One driver backed into another causing damage. SFS cited the driver.
May 16: SFS responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at the 56th Force Support Squadron Youth Center. The individual backed a vehicle out of a spot and hit another vehicle causing minor damage. The individual was cited for inattentive backing.
Emergency responses
May 2: SFS responded to a report of a wall jumper adjacent to the Luke AFB Exchange. A homeless man was unaware he was on base. The individual was barred for two years.
May 3: SFS responded to a fire alarm at the request of fire fighters and evacuated a building. Fire services determined an individual had covered the smoke detector with a towel. The scene was determined safe.
May 4: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency on the flightline. An individual made complaints of a head injury and was transported to Abrazo West Campus.
May 7: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the base track. An individual complained of abdominal pain and was transported to Abrazo West Campus.
May 7: SFS responded to a report of drugs at South Gate. SFS located drug paraphernalia in a LYFT driver’s vehicle. The individual was issued a debarment order for two years.
May 9: SFS responded to a report of damage to private property at the Luke AFB Exchange parking garage. The individual made complaints of slashed tires. It was determined another vehicle had the tires slashed. SFS has no leads.
May 10: SFS responded to a report of a wall jumper near Kachina Gate. SFS conducted sector sweeps and located the individual who was trying to meet a friend. SFS detained the individual and conducted a search. During the search, SFS located a glass pipe and black vial, which contained a green leafy substance. Glendale police responded, cited and released the individual. The individual was barred from base for two years.
May 10: SFS responded to a report of a drug incident at South Gate. SFS smelled marijuana in a vehicle. Glendale police responded and cited the individual.
May 16: SFS responded to a report of an individual on the flightline who did not possess a restricted area badge. SFS apprehended and charged the individual with Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The individual was released to the first sergeant.
May 16: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the fitness annex. An individual had lost consciousness and was transported for further evaluation to Abrazo West Campus.
May 17: SFS responded to an individual on the flightline who didn’t have a restricted area badge. SFS apprehended and charged the individual with Article 92, UCMJ. The individual was released to the first sergeant.
May 18: SFS responded to a report of a wall jumper. The individual was detained. The individual jumped the wall to go a personal residence on base. The sponsor was charged with an escort violation and the wall jumper was barred for a period of two years.
May 20: SFS responded to a report of a warrant’s hit at the South Gate Visitor Center. The individual was wanted in Gilbert. The police department did not want to extradite. The individual was denied access to the installation.
May 20: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the commissary. The individual made complaints of chest pain and a numb arm. The individual was transported to Abrazo West Campus for further evaluation.
May 22: SFS responded to a report of animal neglect. The complainant stated a neighbor had left two dogs outside chained to their kennels. The animals appeared to be malnourished. SFS briefed the owners on Luke policy.
May 23: SFS responded to a report of a warrant’s hit for “no comply” from Surprise police at South Gate Visitor Center. The individual was extradited.
Nonemergency responses
May 2: SFS identified an unsecured facility at Bldg. 1150. The building custodian conducted a walk through and the building was secured with no findings.
May 9: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the Exchange. The individual attempted to leave the store without rendering payment of $52.99. Glendale police responded and cited the individual.
May 17: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the commissary. An individual attempted to leave without paying through self-checkout. The individual left the scene before SFS arrived.
May 18: SFS responded to a report of shoplifting at the Luke Air Force Base Exchange. An individual attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise worth $128.25. Glendale police arrived, cited and released the individual.
Alarm activations
SFS responded to 30 alarm activations on base.

Avoid wearing headphones while running or driving on base. The use of headphones while running on the base track is acceptable.
