The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents July 24 through Aug. 20 at Luke Air Force Base:
Tickets
SFS issued citations for 22 moving and five non-moving violations.
Traffic-related incidents
July 24: SFS responded to a report of a hit and run at Bldg. 1535. The driver struck a pedestrian near Credit Union West. The pedestrian was transported to the nearest hospital. Glendale police responded and cited the driver for failure to prevent an accident who was then released.
July 27: SFS detected a fraudulent ID at the South Gate search pit. The subjects were civilian contractors and were suspected of having drugs in the vehicle. Glendale police responded and escorted the subjects off the installation.
July 27: SFS responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at Bldg. 1130. One driver backed a vehicle into another. There were no injuries.
Aug. 2: SFS conducted a traffic stop where the subject was driving on a suspended license. The subject was processed and received an Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order.
Aug. 4: SFS responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident at Lightning Gate. Insurance was exchanged. There were no injuries.
Aug. 5: SFS responded to a report of a vehicle vs. a fixed object accident at South Gate. The driver made an illegal U-turn, struck the north side wall, and was cited and released. There were no injuries.
Aug. 9: SFS observed a vehicle at South Gate that was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident in the search pit area. SFS reviewed camera footage with no findings of a hit and run.
Aug. 10: SFS responded to a report of a vehicle vs. a fixed object accident. The driver had oversteered the vehicle and caused minimal damage to the fence. The fence was repaired and secured.
Aug. 11: SFS observed a drunken driver at the South Gate. The subject was a civilian being sponsored by a military individual. Glendale police took control.
Aug. 17: SFS responded to an alleged hit and run at Bldg. 542. The victim could not provide an identification of the other vehicle.
Aug. 18: SFS responded to a minor two-vehicle accident at Bong and Eagle Street. One driver struck the rear bumper of the other driver. One traffic citation was issued for inattentive driving.
Emergency responses
July 25: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Lightning Gate. The patient sustained knee and head injuries and was transported to Abrazo West.
July 28: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 1130. Patient was complaining of chest pains and was transported to Abrazo West.
July 29: SFS responded to a report of an unlawful entry at Kachina Gate. SFS personnel reported an individual ran through the gate on foot and was ignoring the entry controllers commands. The subject was detained and released to Glendale police.
July 30: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at South Gate. SFS reported a non-military affiliated driver with an altered level of consciousness. The patient was transported to St Joseph’s Westgate.
Aug. 1: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 668. The patient reported having sharp abdominal pain and severe dehydration, and was transported to Abrazo West.
Aug. 2: SFS responded to a report of a suicide attempt/drug incident in base housing. The patient was transported to Dignity Health in Glendale.
Aug. 2: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the AAFES Shoppette entrance. An individual had fallen and the head hit pavement. Patient was treated and released on scene.
Aug. 15: SFS responded to a Medical Emergency at Building 636. The Patient had was found face down with lacerations on head. The Patient was transported to Abrazo West.
Aug. 15: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the satellite pharmacy. The patient had fallen and sustained a cut lip. The patient was treated on scene and released.
Aug. 18: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Army, Air Force Exchange Service Shoppette parking lot. A civilian drank alcohol and took Adderall, which resulted in suicidal ideations. Glendale police took control. Drug paraphernalia was found in the patient’s vehicle. The patient was transported to an off-base agency.
Alarm activations
SFS responded to 22 alarm activations on base.
