The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents Feb. 19 through March 25 at Luke Air Force Base:
Tickets
SFS issued citations for 72 moving violations and five nonmoving violations.
Traffic accidents
Feb. 21: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at South Gate commercial vehicle entry lane. A trailer struck the entry gate causing damage to the trailer and the gate. There were no injuries.
March 4: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Eagle Street and Harris Lane. A trailer struck a street sign and knocked it down.
March 5: SFS responded to a report of a major vehicle accident off base. The driver of the vehicle was injured. SFS rendered assistance to the driver and provided traffic control.
March 5: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at Kachina Gate. The driver struck a curb causing a tire to deflate. There were no injuries.
March 8: SFS responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Super Sabre Street and Johnson Lane. There were no injuries.
March 12: SFS responded to a report of a major vehicle accident at the satellite pharmacy. The driver of the vehicle drove into the perimeter wall causing extensive damage to both the car and the wall. There were no injuries.
March 12: SFS and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle accident outside of North Gate. The vehicle had caught on fire and was put out. There were no injuries.
March 17: SFS responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident at Kachina Gate. There were no injuries.
Emergency responses
Feb. 19: SFS responded to a warrant confirmation for a parole violation on a nonmilitary-affiliated civilian out of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. SFS contacted the agency to extradite. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and took control of the situation.
Feb. 21: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency in base housing where an individual was hallucinating. The individual was treated and transported to Abrazo West.
Feb. 22: SFS responded to a report of a wall jumper next to Credit Union West. The subject jumped the wall to make a banking transaction at the bank. SFS apprehended the subject and conducted a search, which produced a bag of methamphetamine. Glendale police arrived and took control of the subject.
Feb. 25: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the softball field. A pregnant individual had fallen. The patient refused medical care and drove to the hospital.
Feb. 26: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the base track. An individual suffered a knee injury, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
Feb. 28: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the base track. An individual was having trouble breathing, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 1: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Luke AFB Exchange parking lot. An individual fell and sustained a head injury. The individual was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 2: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the commissary. An individual had collapsed and lost consciousness. The individual was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 3: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency in base housing. An individual had a high fever and trouble breathing, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 5: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at Club Five Six. An individual had trouble breathing, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 6: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at South Gate Visitor’s Center. An individual had trouble breathing, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 8: SFS was notified of a military member involved in a shooting. The victim heard noises outside, looked out the peephole in the door and was shot in the chest. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded. The victim was treated at Abrazo West.
March 8: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Exchange. An individual was having a seizure, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 9: SFS responded to a warrant’s hit at Kachina Gate. The issuing agency was Bernalillo County, Albuquerque, who relayed the warrant had expired. SFS released the individual.
March 11: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency in base housing. An individual experienced a negative reaction to medication and was transported to Abrazo West.
March 13: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the base Gym. The nature of the emergency was dehydration. The individual was treated on scene and released.
March 15: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Exchange parking garage. An individual had fallen hitting the head and neck, was treated on scene and transported to Abrazo West.
March 16: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency in base housing. An individual had lost consciousness and was transported to Abrazo West.
March 16: SFS responded to a report of a driver striking a wall near Kachina Gate. It was determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. Glendale police responded and took control of the situation.
March 17: SFS responded to a report of a medical emergency in base housing. An individual had lost consciousness and was transported to Abrazo West.
Nonemergency responses
Feb. 23: SFS responded to a report of an activated fire alarm in the dormitories. The cause was due to an electronic smoking device in a room. SFS apprehended an individual who was charged with Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order or regulation.
March 8: SFS responded to a report of an animal bite in base housing. The victim denied medical treatment and the dog was taken into control by Maricopa County Animal Control.
March 17: SFS responded to a report of four individuals smoking marijuana cigarettes in the parking lot of Bldg. 500. Glendale police responded and assumed control of the situation.
March 17: SFS responded to a report of a drunk and disorderly event at Bldg. 471. It was discovered the individual was underage and was charged with drunk and disorderly and underage drinking.
March 18: SFS detected drugs at South Gate search pit while utilizing a military working dog. Glendale police responded and assumed control of the situation.
Alarm activations
SFS responded to 18 alarm activations on base.
