Staff Sgt. Zachary Madera, F-35 Heritage Flight Team crew chief, marshals an F-35A Lightning II June 7 at the Quonset State Airport in North Kingstown, R.I. The F-35 HFT performed in the Rhode Island Air Show on June 9 and 10, and will perform at 13 air shows around the world throughout the season. The HFT requires one pilot and 12 maintainers, a compilation of active-duty, Reserve and Air National Guard Airmen, to showcase the world’s most technologically advanced fifth generation fighter aircraft.
