Hello, everyone and welcome to the July 2021 issue of Luke AFB Thunderbolt! Honorary commanders from the 944th Fighter Wing made a “field trip” to the south last month, checking out the 924th Fighter Group’s A-10 Thunderbolt II at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. With their appetite for adventure whetted by up-close and personal views of F-35 and F-16 aircraft based here at Luke, the community leaders journeyed to Tucson to expand their knowledge of the 944th Fighter Wing’s mission. “Being able to visit the 924th down here expands my understanding of the entire unit and the Air Force in general,” said Sean Edkins, 944th FW command chief honorary commander. “Everything is related with different squadrons all over the country.” We have full details of the tour and much more news, in this month’s issue of Luke AFB Thunderbolt.
