Littlerock sailor participates in United Through Reading

PACIFIC OCEAN–Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Christina Martinez, from Littlerock, Calif., aboard amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) reads a book on recorded video to send back to her daughter as part of United Through Reading program. More than 4,500 sailors and Marines from Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) are transiting the Pacific Ocean en route to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.

Pilot dead, one hurt in crash at Texas AF base

One pilot is dead, and one was transferred to Val Verde Regional Medical Center when an Air Force T-38C Talon assigned to Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, crashed at approximately 7:40 p.m., Nov. 13 on base. Laughlin emergency responders are on scene. The names of the pilots are being withheld for next of kin notification....
