The Flight Test Historical Foundation will host a groundbreaking ceremony March 23, near the Century Circle display, for the new Air Force Flight Test Museum. The Century Circle display features a restored 18-foot high and 28-foot wide control tower and six Century Series aircraft, the F-100, F-101, F-102, F-104, F-105 and F-106.
The Flight Test Historical Foundation will host a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m., March 23 for the new Air Force Flight Test Museum Campus.
The ceremony will take place at the West Gate of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., (Rosamond Boulevard), near the Century Circle display of aircraft. Base access is not required to attend the event.
Parking, however, is limited, so attendees are asked to follow directions from base security forces personnel.
“We look forward to having you share this milestone event with us as we begin the process of constructing a new, state-of-the-art Flight Test Museum and Aerospace STEM Education Center,” said the directors and trustees in a release. “Once complete, this new facility outside the security boundary of Edwards AFB will finally make these awe-inspiring artifacts accessible to their owners—the general public and the next generation of scientists, engineers, technicians and pilots who make our nation strong.”
