The event was held at the Oasis Community Center and base gym.
Approximately 300 military retirees, their families and surviving spouses were welcomed to the 2016 Military Retiree Appreciation Day event held May 7 at the Oasis Community Center and base gym at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
Attendees came all the way from Bakersfield, Barstow and Los Angeles.
Retirees and spouses were treated to services and information updates from staff members with the Edwards Retirees Activities Office, the 412th Medical Group, legal office, ID card services, TRICARE, Delta Dental, USAA and many more.
Air Force photograph by Kenji ThuloweitAlong with information, attendees enjoyed free refreshments, hot dogs and free grocery items provided by the Commissary. Raffle prizes were given out towards the end of event officially closing out 2016 Military Retiree Appreciation Day.
During the event, information booths were set up throughout the basketball court at the gym with briefings and refreshments held at the Oasis Community Center. Each session was used to discuss the latest information regarding medical issues and benefits, Veterans Affairs, TRICARE, legal services and Casualty Affairs information.
Along with information, attendees enjoyed free refreshments and hotdogs provided by the Commissary, as well as raffle prizes at the end.
