Luke ‘Salad Wednesdays’ good for body, wallet

Airmen wanting to eat right and save money can turn to restaurants at the Luke Air Force Base Exchange for “Salad Wednesday.”

Every Wednesday, Luke AFB diners can take $2 off any salad priced $4 or more at participating Exchange direct-operated restaurants. “Salad Wednesday” is part of the Luke AFB Exchange’s BE FIT initiative, designed to promote healthy lifestyles for Airmen, retirees and military families.

“The ‘Salad Wednesday’ discount helps military diners put some green on their plate — and keep some green in their wallet,” said Aileen Rivenburg, Exchange general manager. “The Exchange works to ensure Airmen and families have access to meals that taste good and are good for them.”

In addition to “Salad Wednesday” savings, diners who use their MILITARY STAR card will receive an additional 10 percent discount at Luke AFB Exchange restaurants.

Exchange restaurants are open to anyone — whether military, civil service, contractor or visitor — per Army Regulation 215-8 and Air Force Instruction 34-211 (I).
