Staff Sgt. Zachary Jones preps the 64th Aggressor Squadron flagship Jan. 7 at Luke Air Force Base. Both the crew chief and pilot conduct prelaunch checks before departing. Members of the 64th AS and 57th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron arrived Jan. 4 from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, to provide red air support for the 310th B-course pilots. They leave today.

Airman 1st Class Derek Niederer, 57th AMXS crew chief, removes the angle-of-attack covers from an aggressor F-16. The AOA calculates airspeed and altitude.

Jones and Dovers remove the heads-up display covers from inside a 64th AS F-16. Jones and Dovers also set up the cockpit to facilitate take-off for the pilot.

Staff Sgt. Ken Dovers, 57th AMXS crew chief, pulls off an exhaust cover. The exhaust cover prevents debris from entering the engine and causing damage.
