Air Force Assistance Fund begins
The Air Force Assistance Fund is an annual effort to raise funds to support Air Force families in need. The campaign runs from March 21 through April 29. The goal for unit representatives is to have a 100 percent contact rate with active-duty personnel. For more information, go to https://www.afassistancefund.org.
Family campout
The 56th Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation is holding the base camp family campout beginning with a 6 p.m.
dinner April 15 with outdoor games, bouncy castle, movie, s’mores by the campfire and more through 7:30 a.m. breakfast April 16 at Fowler Park. The cost is $10 for a family of four and $5 per each additional member. Camping packages including a tent and four sleeping bags available for $15. Registration deadline is March 14. Portable career for spouses
The Air Force Aid Society is funding training for spouses to obtain a pharmacy technician certification by attending classes at Glendale Community College. This comprehensive 72-hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. To apply, visit the 56th Force Support Squadron Airman & Family Readiness Center. Slots are limited to active-duty U.S. Air Force spouses assigned to Luke Air Force Base. Hire Heroes Workshop

Airman’s Attic
The Airman’s Attic is an all-volunteer workforce that provides gently used household items and clothing to active-duty service members (E-1 to E-5) and their dependents at no charge. Items are free but limited. Volunteers are welcome. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday and the first and third Saturdays, and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Airman’s Attic Open Ranks Day

Luke tax center open
The on-base tax center is now open. Free tax assistance on federal and state tax returns is available to active-duty, retirees and dependents. To receive assistance, members must bring a valid military I.D., social security card for each member of the family to be claimed, all tax forms for income (e.g. W-2, W-2G, 1099), a copy of the 2014 tax return, and a checking or savings document (e.g. check or bank statement) with routing number from the member’s bank. Munitions storage area closure change
The 56th Equipment Maintenance Squadron Munitions Storage Area will be closed March 18 through 25 to conduct a 100-percent munitions inventory. Only emergency issues will be handled during this time.
