The 56th Security Forces Squadron handled the following incidents March 1 through 7 at Luke Air Force Base:
Tickets
Security forces issued citations for 23 moving violations and three nonmoving violations.
Traffic-related incidents
March 1: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident near Bldg. 458. There were no injuries.
Emergency responses
March 2: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency within the base clinic. Security forces arrived on scene and determined the emergency stemmed from chest pains. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
March 5: Security forces responded to a medical emergency at a dormitory. Security forces arrived on scene and determined the emergency stemmed from excessive alcohol consumption. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
March 5: Security forces responded to reports of an individual with suicidal gestures. Contact was made with the individual who needed additional care. Medical services and the unit were contacted and took control.
Nonemergency responses
March 3: Security forces responded to a warrant’s hit at South Gate Visitor Center. The individual was searched with negative findings. The local agency was contacted but declined to extradite. The individual was barred from base and escorted off the installation.
March 4: Security forces responded to a warrant’s hit at South Gate Visitor Center. The individual was searched with negative findings. The Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office responded and took control.
March 5: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at the Luke Exchange. Security forces detained the individual after video evidence confirmed items were taken without rendering full payment. Glendale police responded and assumed control of the situation.
March 6: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting at the Luke Exchange. Security forces detained the family member of a retired member after video evidence confirmed items were taken without rendering full payment. Glendale police responded and took control.
Alarm activations
Security forces responded to five alarm activations on base.
