Finance office closed

Job fair

The 56th Force Support Squadron Airman & Family Readiness Center will host, in partnership with the Department of Economic Security, the 2015 Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28 at Club Five Six. More than 60 local and national employers will attend to include federal, state, county and city government agencies, and private sector healthcare, aviation, security, financial, IT, hotel and other services. Military child care

MilitaryChildCare.com, a new Defense Department website, will go live Nov. 16. It is designed to simplify and improve the child care request for care process and provides a single online gateway for families to access military-operated or military-subsidized child care options worldwide across all services. Sound of Speed 2

Barrett Jackson and the Phoenix Symphony invite veterans, military members and their families to receive free tickets to The Sound of Speed 2 pit road festival and concert Oct. 24 at the Phoenix Symphony and 3rd Street. The festival is 3 p.m. and the concert is at 7:30 p.m. To obtain vouchers for tickets for the symphony, email sam.young74@ymail.com. Call the symphony box office by Oct. 21. Hats off to HEROES

The Hats Off to HEROES event is 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14
at Reid Park Bandshell in Tucson and is part of the Tucson Veterans Day Weekend Celebration. A 5k fun run, resource fair, military displays, food court, live music and fireworks are included.

Dorm inspection

The next quarterly dorm inspection is 8 a.m. Oct. 23. The Outstanding Dorm Room Inspection will be held the following Monday on Oct. 26 by Col. David Shoemaker, 56th Fighter Wing vice commander and Chief Master Sgt. John Mazza, 56th FW command chief. The outstanding room winner will be announced at the next quarterly awards recognition ceremony in November. For more information, contact the unit first sergeant.

Airman’s Attic closed

The Airman’s Attic will be closed Wednesday. It will resume normal business hours Thursday.

Ladies crud tournament

Teams are now forming for the ladies crud tournament happening at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 in the old officer’s club, Bldg. 750. Entry fee is $30 per team. Veteran training

The Department of Veterans Affairs is featuring online training courses to assist veterans with a number of issues including overcoming life’s challenges, parenting, managing stress, and anger and irritability. For more information, go to http://www.veterantraining.va.gov.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed on Make a Difference Day to help clean up trash, install new signs, paint over graffiti and more to improve the Tres Rios area. The time is 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at Base & Meridian Wildlife Recreation Area next to Phoenix International Raceway at 7602 S. Avondale Blvd. in Avondale.
