On Oct. 19, the Mojave Air & Space Port will host a special Plane Crazy Saturday celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Rutan Long EZ’s first flight (Oct. 12, 1979) at Mojave.
The event runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Mojave Air & Space Port.
There will be a fly-in, static displays and a fundraiser luncheon presentation. Guest speakers are Burt Rutan, Dick Rutan and Mike Melvill.
The luncheon, talk, raffles and auction will take place in the Stu Witt Event Center. Cost is $30 per person. Please R.S.V.P. to info@mojavemuseum.org. To pay online, visit http://mojavemuseum.org/store/40th-Anniversary-of-Long-EZ-p151309137.
This is a historical aircraft display day and a free family educational event, so children are especially welcome! They are our future pilots and aerospace engineers! Along with the special presentation, local area pilots will display their unique one-of-a-kind and historic aircraft.
No dogs or animals, except for service animals, are allowed on the flightline, and the flightline is a no smoking area.
