Community Commons closures: Community Commons will be closed Saturdays throughout the month of April. Those dates are April 7, 14, 21 and 28. For more information, call 702-652-0967.
Sports Day: April 13 is Sports Day at Nellis and Creech. Activities run 7 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Warrior Fitness Center. Events include a color run, three-on-three basketball, softball, cornhole, tug-of-war and a soap box race. Additionally, there will be free food, fun and the chance to be crowned champions. Wings will compete in events to accumulate points that will contribute to the overall score. For more information, contact:

Pahrump Wineries Tour: Outdoor Recreation is sponsoring the Pahrump Wineries Tour 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., April 14. The cost is $52 per person and includes transportation, two winery tours with tasting and a catered lunch. Participants must be 21 and older to take part. Zion Camping Adventure: Join Outdoor Recreation for a trip to Zion National Park, April 17-19. Enjoy great trails, camp site activities, and relax in the beauty of the park. Cost is $125 for adults, and $100 for children under 10. The cost includes transportation, meals on campsite, equipment and fees. Thrift store donations: The Nellis Area Spouses’ Club Thrift Shop relies on your donations to keep things up and running. Paper bags are the Nellis Area Spouses’ Club Thrift Shop’s donation of the month for April. The Thrift Shop relies on your donations to keep things running. Donations can be dropped off any time at the Thrift Shop located at 4148 Mountain Home, Bldg. 605 next to the Commissary.
Spouses Club social: The Nellis Area Spouses’ Club April Social is Garden Party Bingo April 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Outdoor Recreation. Cost is $12 per person and includes dinner, drinks and one Bingo card. Please pre-pay at by April 16 to reserve your spot. Additional Bingo cards may be purchased at the event for $1 each with cash only. Non-members are welcome, but only members can win prizes.
Ski and Snowboard: Join Outdoor Recreation for skiing and/or snowboarding at Brian Head, April 7.

Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.
GI Bill Briefings are held on a walk-in, one-on-one basis at the Education Center, Bldg. 20, Room 330.
Veterinary clinic: Are you PCSing overseas? Do you have a pet? If the answer to both questions is yes, then contact the Nellis AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility. The Nellis VTF is the only vet clinic here in the greater Las Vegas area that can fully complete your pets International Travel Documents. Creech Happenings

Shuttle bus: Nellis dorm and Base Housing residents who work at Creech now have another option for transportation to and from work — a new FEDVAN Shuttle option to/from Creech. All costs are covered under the Mass Benefits Transportation Program. For more information, contact Sommer Loftin, 79th Air Base Group, at 702-404-1731 to sign up.
Need uniform items but don’t have time to go to Nellis? Creech is slated to have the ability to order uniform items and have them delivered next day. Talk to your squadron leadership for more information.
