NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. — The following is a compilation of disciplinary actions taken by Nellis and Creech commanders for drug abuse from Nov. 1, 2016 to Jan 9, 2017.
Courts-Martial:
• Senior Airman: On Nov. 2, a senior airman was found guilty in a summary court-martial of wrongful use of cocaine. This member was sentenced to confinement for 14 days and reduction to E-2.
• Senior Airman: On Nov. 3, a senior airman was found guilty in a summary court-martial of wrongful use of ecstasy. This member was sentenced to confinement for 21 days, reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $200 pay for one month, and a reprimand.
• Senior Airman: On Nov. 21, a senior airman was found guilty in a summary court-martial of wrongful use of cocaine. This member was sentenced to confinement for 25 days, reduction to E-1, and a reprimand.
• Senior Airman: On Nov. 22, a senior airman was found guilty in a summary court-martial of wrongful use of cocaine. This member was sentenced to confinement for 20 days, reduction to E-1, and a reprimand.
• Senior Airman: On Jan. 9, a senior airman was found guilty in a special court-martial of wrongful use of ecstasy. This member was sentenced to seven days confinement, two months hard labor without confinement, reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $500 pay for one month, and a reprimand.
NOTE: These members have been or are in the process of being administratively discharged due to their drug use.
Administrative Discharges:
• Airman 1st Class: An airman first class wrongfully used marijuana. For this misconduct, the member received a general service characterization.
• Airman: An airman lied about pre-service drug use of cocaine, LSD, and MDMA, and made statements about drug use while in the military. For this misconduct, the member received a general service characterization.
• Airman: An airman wrongfully used steroids on multiple occasions. For this misconduct, the member received a general service characterization.
Article 15s:
• Technical sergeant: A technical sergeant wrongfully used methamphetamine. For this misconduct, the member was reduced in rank to E-5 and received a reprimand.
• Technical sergeant: A technical sergeant wrongfully used hydrocodone. For this misconduct, the member received a suspended reduction in rank to E-5 and a reprimand.
• Senior airmen: Three senior airmen wrongfully used marijuana. For this misconduct, the members were reduced in rank to E-3 and received a reprimand.
• Senior Airman: A senior airman wrongfully used steroids. For this misconduct, the member was reduced in rank to E-2 and received a reprimand.
• Airman 1st Class: An airman first class wrongfully used marijuana one occasion. For this misconduct, the member was reduced in rank to E-2 and received a reprimand.
NOTE: These members have been or are in the process of being administratively discharged due to their drug use.
