Q. I was previously informed that I could not get care on base once I turned 65. What changed?
A. By law, Medicare becomes your primary insurer once you turn 65. Most military treatment facilities do not have the resources to take care of seniors. However, select bases around the country that have robust medical services are authorized to offer the TRICARE Plus program. We are pleased to offer the program at Nellis and encourage you to take advantage of this benefit.
Q. How does this affect my Medicare benefit?
A. TRICARE Plus adds to your Medicare Benefit. It does not take away any benefits you currently enjoy with Medicare.
