Desert Lightning News Nellis-Creech AFB – Digital and Print Publication Serving Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, Las Vegas NV and surrounding communities. An AerotechNews.com Publication. – January 10, 2020
Hello, fans and friends – welcome to the first issue of Nellis-Creech AFB Desert Lightning News for 2020! We’re getting the new year off to a high-energy start with a look at rapid crew swaps, a set of procedures being integrated into the curriculum of the USAF Weapons School at Nellis. A rapid crew swap, which must be performed with extreme precision to ensure the safety of aircraft and crew, shortens the turn time for recovery and launching a jet from the normal three hours down to just one hour. “Rapid crew swaps are great training because they prepare us for combat or real-life situations,” says maintainer A1C Bonifacio Garcia.
