Planes, aviation legends, highlight 70th anniversary

Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., held its 70th Anniversary of Supersonic Flight event Oct. 13-14. Famed test pilots, retired Brig. Generals Chuck Yeager and Robert Cardenas, were on hand for the celebration that honored their achievement Oct. 14, 1947.

CE completes work without grounding Rocket Lab operations

Realizing the criticality of Air Force Research Laboratory’s Rocket Propulsion Division’s mission at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., the 412th Civil Engineer Squadron Infrastructure Flight and Heavy Repair Flight teamed up to replace two obsolete cooling towers and one 40-ton condensing unit.
